The Encyclopaedia of Saudi Arabia for Children and Young People
The Encyclopaedia of Saudi Arabia for Children and Young People aims to provide an integrated knowledge source for children of between 9 and 15 years old by providing reliable documented information about the Kingdom's history, present, monuments and historical sites, the customs and traditions of Saudi society, the development of the cultural movement, geographical characteristics, service programmes, economic development projects, tourism assets, and the wildlife of all the Kingdom's nine regions.
The Encyclopaedia seeks to encourage children and young people to read, which is the key to human knowledge, and to build their personalities in an integrated spiritual, psychological, social and knowledge structure, so that they may become good citizens, capable of realizing their hopes, as well as promoting the values of belonging to the homeland, and working for its advancement and prosperity. The National Cultural Project for the Renewal of Our Relationship with the Book
The project is one of the leading national sustainable cultural projects of the King Abdul-Aziz Public Library in the field of modernization, development and knowledge stimulation that have been entrusted to it. This project bridges the gap and deepens the links between the receiver and the book in order to create an appropriate, nurturing environment for creativity, innovation, research, reading and accessing fields through the book, which is an inspiring source of culture and knowledge, and one of the most important complementary tools for raising the level of cultural awareness and providing opportunities to acquire knowledge and various professional skills.

Child Book Club
In its desire to strengthen the relationship between the child and the book and to bring them closer together, and aware that one of the most important ways in which this relationship is strengthened is for the appropriate book to be placed in the child’s hands, the King Abdul-Aziz Public Library has adopted the idea of founding a Children’s Book Club, and it has put all available resources into preparing the club in the best way to achieve its goals.
The club offers children the opportunity to participate in it from all over the Kingdom so as to educate them and sow the habit of reading by offering them the best Arabic books to open the doors of culture and knowledge to them, and we hope that the Library’s books and others will be placed in the hands of every child in the Kingdom, thus publicising the slogan:
“A cultured child builds up a nation.”

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia occupies a prestigious and distinguished position at the regional, Islamic and international levels. The Arabic Union Catalogue
The King Abdul-Aziz Public Library (The Arabic Union Catalogue Centre) was established on 13 May 2001 to serve Arab and Islamic libraries and culture. Since its establishment, it has represented a qualitative leap in the history of joint Arab cultural work, given that it is a promising pioneering cultural and artistic enterprise that has contributed to the collection of much Arab cultural content. Through it, people have easy access to books and all sources of information in all the various fields.
The Centre reflects the efforts of the Library to do all it can to enhance Arab and Islamic culture, as a major addition to the sustainable cultural projects adopted by the Library. The King Abdul Aziz Public Library launched its international translation prize in the name of its founder the late King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, in connection with his efforts to conduct a global dialogue between the followers of the various religions and to extend the bridges of civilisational communication between peoples and to encourage the communication of knowledge between cultures and civilizations in order to consolidate the positions of Saudi Arabia and its leadership through stressing the importance of knowledge in achieving rapprochement and understanding between states and peoples, and to come together on the basis of the common denominators that foster cooperation among them.
