Open Data is data that can be freely used by any individual, without technical, financial or legal restrictions, and that can be reused and disseminated subject to the legal license requirements under which the data was published through the National Open Data Portal.
The King Abdulaziz Library has provided its open data through the Open Data Portal. It contains many types of data in multiple formats that facilitate processing and reuse, to enhance transparency and encourage electronic participation.
The Library has contributed its huge project, the Unified Arab IIndex, which provides a huge database that records published Arab intellectual production, containing a comprehensive bibliography of Arabic book collections found in Arab libraries. This has brought together the book data, facilitated the exchange of records among libraries, and dispensed with the repeated indexing of one book in more than one library.
